The “reverend” chad a everson on Church Discipline

On May 16, chad preached again on the discipline of a young man he tried to destroy at Madison Street Baptist Church. Folks, it has been three years and people ask why this site is still up and why haven’t people moved on.

This boy just doesn’t get it does he? People’s lives are not his to control. You deacons at Trinity just continue to sit there watching, just as those in Starke and Byron did, even knowing that you have had very negative interactions with chad, and even have talked them over with people, but you still sit idly by and watch him attack the church of the Living God. You are as guilty as he is for the people and families he has hurt.

Well, to set the record straight again, below is the truth as a response to this little rant of his on May 16. You know, lies are about all you ever get from this bunch of hypocrites, so nothing new here, just the same old thieves and liars from old.

REPOSTED From November 2009

The Background

Chad Everson came to Madison Street Baptist Church around Easter of 2004. The Personnel Committee had been given referrals by men such as John Sullivan, Herb Revis, and Rick Coram, men who MSBC had given place to on many occasions. Unfortunately, hearing the testimony of these men had really been the only research done concerning the past of this man who also allegedly held a doctorate degree from a reputable seminary. Now we know this was fraudulent as well.

Chad brought on Jeff Summers within a year. Jeff was supposedly a visionary children’s pastor who had been with him in Georgia. Our church started an Upward Soccer ministry and brought a great many families out to enjoy the sport and to hear the Gospel. Unfortunately, this ministry also gave Chad an outlet for his very competitive attitude and arrogant behavior. Many people experienced this through interactions with Chad and Jeff. These two were responsible for dozens of families, due to those experiences, who refused to visit or continue to attend MSBC.

Blindly over the first couple of years, many of us sat there and watched dozens of families leave the church. Later we found, that we were lied to as to why some left when we asked about them. We expected some turnover, but what we didn’t know, was the truth of why these people were leaving. Some left due to the way Chad and Jarrod were spending money with no accountability. Some left because of an interaction they had with Chad and then heard about it from the pulpit. Several were told if you don’t like it, then leave. Many of them should have said something about the arrogance, the unilateral financial decisions, and the mean-spirited attitudes. They would simply leave and say that God was calling them elsewhere. That may have been true; however, this merely left many there that would inevitably come to doubt their own relationships with Christ because of the arrogance and deceptive actions from leadership. Many began to get a sense that something was wrong but focused the doubt on their own selves instead of on leadership. It simply caused great confusion among the congregation.

For three years, many toiled with their shoulders to the wheel really not paying attention to what was going on behind the scenes as we thought God’s work was still being done despite the doubt and confusion running rampant throughout the church. All along, under the guise of deception, Chad had gained total control of the church through the by-laws, through the teaching of Calvinism in the kindler’s group, and through Jarrod’s choices of Sunday school curriculum, which in most cases was not much more than quotes from some of the most extreme hyper-Calvinists. The kindler’s group was a group of men that met with Chad and Jarrod once a week for what was supposed to be a deeper study in God’s Word. It apparently turned in to a lesson on Calvinism and in my opinion, a way for Chad to slowly push his false doctrine and ultimate authority. Also, unknown by many was that Jeff Stockdale, the youth pastor, was teaching Calvinism secretively as well.

The Demise

The new Family Life Center opened in 2006, and from day one it was a fiasco. During the first service, it took almost two hours for families to check their children in to the nursery. Chad had invited a few folks from the church’s past including prior pastors, to the ceremony and then “forgot” to acknowledge them or to utilize them to pray or speak. In my opinion, this simply further reflects his arrogant attitude. The rules established for the use of the facilities were built around convenience for Chad, Jarrod, and their clicks. The rules almost made it impossible to use the facilities for families to work out together. For example, men and women working out together was prohibited. If you complained or offered suggestions, you were accused of being negative and not being loyal to leadership. You were accused of and talked about having a bad attitude supposedly due to not getting your way. You were labeled a troublemaker and a target was placed on you as one to watch and keep in check.

In February of 2007, a certain young deacon, Andy, had come to the conclusion that he was going to have to divorce his wife. He submitted in writing to Chad his resignation as a deacon and a member of MSBC. That resignation started a war behind the scenes that only a select few were aware of. As this is going on, around May of that year, there were several members of MSBC that received a letter allegedly from Jarrod’s previous church, stating that he had been caught viewing pornography on several church computers and pointed people to a website that told the story.

So, Chad decides to address these two things from the pulpit. He announces one week that a crazy guy at his dad’s church is out to get Jarrod and is spreading viscous lies about his family and that is what the letters were about. He also decided to bring Andy’s name before the church to let us know that he was under church discipline because he had abandoned his wife, some three months after he had resigned and moved his letter to another church. These announcements from the pulpit went over the majority of people’s heads and were disregarded by most. However, it caused some to further research and dig into the pasts of these men.

It was discovered that there had been a large sum of money allegedly stolen from Chad’s church, Day Spring Baptist, in Byron, GA, now Shady Grove Baptist Church. Chad was the pastor at the time of the alleged theft and had been advised to report the person responsible for the stolen money, however, as of this writing, to my knowledge, it has still not been reported to the proper authorities. It was also found to be true that Jarrod had in fact been caught viewing pornography on church computers at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church. Chad allegedly knew about it and had not informed our Deacon Board. Once it was truly fleshed out, it was apparent that there was great inconsistency with how Jarrod’s issue had been dealt with and how Mike and Chad Everson dealt with others and their issues within their churches. These men wanted to throw others out of the church; however, they forgot the story about the plank and the speck from the Bible.

It was known among a few of the deacons that in September of 2007, Chad was going to once again bring up Andy’s name to remove him from the church role. Thirty-five or so men met with Andy days before this was done. He sat and poured out his heart as he accounted the story of how he had been treated by Chad and others he thought were friends, and how he had been lied about and pursued by Chad and his followers, especially Adam who was supposed to be a really good friend of Andy. Many of these men were hearing the story for the first time. This young man had literally been through hell over the last year. When asked why Chad was pursuing him as such, he simply responded that he did not know. He said that Chad would not accept his resignation, and that he had to repent to Chad and take his wife back in order to make it right in Chad’s eyes.

The Christian Law Association was contacted by one of the trustees and was told that we as a church had no standing in this man’s life anymore. He had resigned. When the lawyer was told that the pastor would not accept his resignation, his response was, “So what, no matter, he is no longer a member. This pastor is setting your church up for a law suit.”

The Confrontation

Ironically, many in the church did not know but Andy had already moved his membership to another church. Even though Chad knew this, one Sunday night towards the end of August, Chad was warned by, Mark, the Chairman of the Deacons, in front of another deacon that if he went though with throwing this man out of the church, that he was going to cause people to leave. Chad responded, “I don’t care if two or two hundred leave, I’m doing this.” Well that fateful Sunday night came, September 2, 2007 was set for the ousting of Andy. A deacon’s meeting was held prior to the service that night.

I am not sure why Adam was there because he was not an active deacon at the time, but he was, other than that it was the active deacons and Chad. Chad got some resistance from several of the deacons. Two got mad enough during the meeting to leave before it ended. Once the meeting was over, the service started. It was very evident that Chad was shaken that night as he stumbled through his sermon and cut it short as he was done in a record thirty minutes or so when his sermons would typically run an hour or better.

He finished his sermon and began the announcements. Just before he closed, he stated that he had met with the deacons and based on a “unanimous decision”, which was a lie, that they were going to remove Andy from the role because he had been under church discipline for abandoning his wife and that we should as a church pray for him and reach out to him with the Gospel. Billy tried to ask a question and was not allowed to speak. Chad interrupted him and closed in prayer.

The melee ensued from there. Billy met Chad at the front, got in Chad’s face, and said something, but Chad walked away. Billy yelled, “There you go, that’s what you get, he doesn’t want to talk about it.” Several men including Jeff Stockdale and Jeff Summers, the children’s pastor, grabbed Billy at that point, but he pulled away and left the building. Chad had several more face to face encounters with others questioning his motives for his actions before he could escape the sanctuary that night.

As Billy and his wife were exiting the building, Jeff Summers and Jeff Stockdale physically put their hands on them and whirled them around. This led to Billy and several other men having a very heated exchange with Jeff Summers and Jeff Stockdale right outside the front door of the church that night. As the confrontation was ending, both Jeff’s were asked if either of them had talked with Andy, both answered, “No.” Stockdale made the remark, “He didn’t even know Andy and that there is a lot going on that you don’t know about.” Several of the men responded with, “Then let’s get it out in the open.” Jeff Summers just kept screaming, “You’re crazy!” He finally walked off claiming that Andy had cussed his wife like a sailor.

The Follow Up

The next day, the Florida Baptist Convention was lobbied for assistance. Robert Mounts and John Sullivan received a fax asking for assistance, signed by a dozen or so MSBC deacons, Sunday school teachers, and trustees. It was rumored as the week rocked on that during the Wednesday night service, Chad was going to get it all out in the open and allow for questions to be asked. Well what happened was a staged Emmy winning performance. He cried and claimed that his wife was on chemo. He never addressed the issues; he just cried and carried on like he was the victim and people were just out to get him. He then allowed several men to speak. However they were all just Chad followers. The truth about the doug pittman site was never revealed. He never addressed him covering up Jarrod’s porn viewing from the church before bringing him on board. He didn’t even address the situation of the stolen money that he had covered up at Day Spring.

He paraded a bunch of men on to the stage with him that sat behind him as a show of support. Most of these men didn’t even have a clue what was going on. Only those that praised Chad and vowed their support to him were allowed to speak including Charles Warren who many of us thought was truly a man of God. Chad received several standing ovations during his performance by a majority of the church. Again, most of the crowd that was there had no idea what had happened the previous Sunday night or about any of the details surrounding these issues. The previous Sunday had been Labor Day Weekend so the attendance had been very low. I think this performance was his attempt at a confidence vote.

After that Wednesday night, many families left MSBC. Chad may have been prophetic after all in that two hundred may have very well been the number of people that left in the first wave. The following Friday, the response from John Sullivan was that he had contacted Chad and was told everything was ok. Chad’s arrogance, false accusations, and bashing of “those people” continues to this day.

More and more people left during 2008. Jeff Carter, a youth pastor brought in by Chad, was arrested on lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor in November of 2008. The details of how Chad and Jeff Summers dealt with the fallout from Carter being caught is just now coming out, but believe me, they were both real jerks to that family about that situation long before the police got involved. They both knew about it back in the Summer of 2008; Carter was arrested in November. This family is still in turmoil over how Chad and Jeff treated them and handled the situation. Chad had mentioned from the pulpit that he had a staff member at a previous church that had been accused of raping a girl, and that he had gotten to the bottom of it. Allegedly, she later admitted after being counseled by Chad that she had lied about the incident. Jeff Carter did serve with Chad at Day Spring Baptist Church. Makes you wonder why Chad even brought him to MSBC in the first place. Carter was recently sentenced to 5 years of probation with sex offender conditions, but stay tuned, because that issue may not be over.

In January of 2009, as most people now know, Chad finally resigned only after receiving the call to Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. His reasoning was that the Starke community was just too evil and his ministry could no longer be effective. Here I thought Christians, and especially pastors, were called to be lights in dark places. I guess they don’t have to practice what they preach. Several of “those people” that had left MSBC were contacted by members of Trinity, but unfortunately, none of the leadership at Trinity took heed.

Chad is apparently doing the same thing at Trinity that he has done at his two previous churches. In my opinion, he is a destructive force that is tearing up churches in the name of doctrine and his own agenda. May God have mercy on him and his followers when they stand before Him.

I know what I am talking about and I have NO fear of these deceivers.

I think someone in the previous post has already posted what I exposed to Madison Street almost 3 years ago when he lied about me from the pulpit....

Maybe I need to re-post my website for all to read again as a reminder of what it is like when you tell the TRUTH about the Everson's or as one 9 year old child I know calls them

Trinity members need to listen to this. I have talked to several people from Chads last churches and I totally believe them. Chad does not care about the members of Trinity. He does not care that the people who have left and some who have been so hurt and are still here. Him, his wife and his partners The Summers are there to destroy and convert as many as possible to their teachings.

Now that money is dropping and so many have left and thanks to this site many people have questioned the deacons that has made them TRY to calm him down. It has only made him scream at us who are still here to not leave and to keep giving. I know one person who has been targeted by Chad and his minions and she someone who has been a member for 40+ years has done NOTHING but thanks to J.H. the past Chairman of the deacons who did not like her pointed to her and many in the choir to blame. The fact was they did not like what J.H. did to many people while we were without a pastor so he used this to get even. Chad just loved this and took J.H. into the inner circle and thanks to J.H. we have Jon as music minister. What a laugh he knows nothing about choir but just as all the other LIES Chad told to get hired he wanted to get rid of the choir anyway. Chad called the choir officers into several meetings and blamed them for ALL of the trouble that Trinity had ever had. Several of them had only been at Trinity a few years. That sent several of them to other churches. Then he LIED to another church member who asked him about these meetings and told this lady who asked the he NEVER met with them. What? LIES! LIES! LIES! He and Michele have told so many they don't know what the truth is anymore.

WAKE UP TRINITY!!!! This will not change. I have done more research on the Evilsons more that our search committee ever did. This is the world we live in a world of con artist. Chad is a BIG one and if we don't stop him our church will never recover but Chad will and will just keep on destroying. He is a CON and is such a good LIAR he will do it again and again.

Kudos to the finance committee if what I heard is true and I hope it is. I was told that Chad wanted to send Jon and Steve to school to learn how to be music directors. They told him NO and now he is mad. How dare people tell him no. They were hired and susposed to be qualified for the positions they were hire for. If they are not then there are others that are. We are paying saleries and housing for two men who know NOTHING about being music directors and that was brought up when Jon was presented for a vote. Now we have a family who have moved here and now do not need to be here. The finance committee was smart because it would have been very bad to have us pay for their school when Chad said over and over that Jon was the right one for the job. I hope this craziness stops soon.

Now you know why Mike got rid of all our committees at PMBC.

At least he asked. Mike just made did it here.

Ask one of your own there at Trinity Clay Cox......

It was not until I exposed the church paying for his schooling that PMBC found out about this. The Church was paying secretly for Clay's schooling while under Mikey..but he said we knew... WHICH WAS A LIE!

You guys better keep your eyes open - He will find a way to get his way....one way or another...

Be careful with Clay Cox too, as he is a HUGE Everson Disciple -all of them!

It has been almost one year since I was so upset over Chad's yelling and bashing of Baptist and other churches that I "Googled" his name. This site came up and at that time 10,170 people has been to this site. Now over 40,000. There is a reason Chad that we are still here. It is YOU! You have lied your way into Trinity and started yelling and pushing all of us around. We welcomed you and what did you do in return walk all over us like the floor. Chad has run off more people in 1 1/2 years than in all the years we have been here. This must end soon before Trinity is gone. He spews hate and lies to the point that now the love is gone and most people are just as hateful as he is. All the promises he has made are just like the air it just keeps blowing and blowing. He and Michele and all his followers he brought and we are paying for are just out to convert us and for those who do not convert to their ideas we are trouble makers and lost doomed for hell. That is not true. Please listen and call and pray for help. They need to leave and we need a true man of God to help us heal and grow.I don't think that we should run the church and I never tried to run off Bro. Jim or Bro. David so I am not a troublemaker but I want Trinity to be the loving place that you would feel the Lord's presence in and want to be at. No one had to preach or yell that we had to be at church Sunday A.M. P.M. or Wednesday night because we wanted to be there. I long for God's hand to be on us and for us to love each other. I hope I see it here agian.

I agree I just hope he gets so mad at being told NO that he takes his family and buddies and goes away. The people are sick of the way he treats us. I know that one HIS deacons that he chose has left and that his tight grip os starting to come untied. I just it happenes quickly so that we can get on with the work Christ has in store for Trinity and we can get God's man in and start healing. I just know that the new PSC must do better research than the last one did. They let us down bad.

The Truth said...

I listned to the sermon from May 16I was there but just like many other times I don't listen because of the foolishness he yells. He thinks that we at Trinity do not know about church discipline we we do, but it was done correctly.

Back soon after Trinity was opened here in Southaven Bro. Jim came with a man he had worked with and known for many years. They were friends. this man was the music minister and he was great. He led worship and we had some of the best musicals around. But as close as they were Bro. Jim did not know know the secret sin this man was in until he was arrested in a park with another man. Bro. Jim was crushed he loved this man and his family. The church loved this man and it hurt to tell him good-bye but Bro. Jim did. He called a church service with the adults and explained (very descretly) the church agreed and he was voted out.

This was done out of love and with great pain. We loved his family and him but knew this was correct discipline. Chad this was one of the men you accused the choir officers of running off.

Church discipline is something that is done out of LOVE. Yes we hate the sin the person is involved in but we do all we can to protect the church and the people involved. Chad takes great pleasure in being the most high and ruler of the church. He seems to enjoy telling the church how he does not believe in any punishment for his boys except with a belt. I am not saying that spanking your children is wrong it is not but to stand up in front of church and brag is a red flag for abuse.

Chad seems to enjoy the way he pushes people around. He enjoys that he can hurt and get away with it. He does not work with LOVE he works with power. He is an abuser. He uses the pulpit and his words to convince everyone that he is always right. He will turn on anyone to show his power but he is really weak.

Bro. Jim is a strong man of God. He did what he did what he did out of LOVE for us and Bro. C. He loved him and his family and it was one of the hardest thing he had ever had to do.

Bro. Chad is a weak man. He does what he does for self. He wants us to fear him so that we will always comply with what he wants. We never heard sermons from any other pastor about "Church Discipline" that was something you discussed if you needed to.

Don't tell us about church discipline we do know about this. We are BLESSED to not know about this. A pastor goes and tries to handle problems the correct way and to keep it out of the eyes of the entire church. You look for anything you can bring before the church to show you are powerful. A strong man show it by how he lives not by just his words.

Ask all the ones who have left. The staff members, the deacons, the teachers. They know. This man is a power hungrey abuser. You will not abuse me anymore!

I know he needs to leave and soon. I can't believe the search committee did not check hhim out better.

Doug please put your blog back up. The people of Trinity need to see it and understand that Chad's abusive ways were like other abusers learned from his dad. He needs to be stopped.

Please Trinity look at what has happened in the past it is happening here too. Read! Pray! All of these people can't be wrong. Where there is smoke there is fire!!!!!

When I listened to the sermon on the 16th of May most bothered me but what was disturbing was the part about being careful on who we allow into the church. I think in this day and time we should be careful (like when we brought Chad here) Jesus came for ALL. The reason Jesus went to the gentiles was because the JEWS would not allow anyone but JEWS to hear. That is what Chad is doing if the people do not meet his approval not the approval of Jesus but Chads he is NOT welcome. Show me this in the Bible and I don't mean a verse that you can twist into this. I want to see where it says that only the people that are like Chad are welcome in Heaven. I guess we should have watched out 1& 1/2 years ago and made sure you met ours then you would not be here. This is not correct and one day someone will stand before the throne and say "I tried to go to church but Chad said NO" Who will answer then. All Christians at Trinity you know this is wrong and a SIN. Please stand up for what this church was built for. To reach the lost not to turn it into a country club for Chads Saved Ones.

Chad must know that the attendance is down. If he doesn't then he needs glasses. The past few weeks the numbers have been really bad. He will probally say it is bacause of the holiday and summer b ut that doesn't explain all the months proir. I could not believe how low the attendance was Easter. But maybe as RUDE and HATEFUL as you were to visitors and members tells the whole story.

I'm a member at Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke and have seen all this play out in our church. After a year & a half we are finally starting to recover and things are looking up, although we are still without a pastor (I assume potential pastors are scared off by the Everson legacy).

The lies, the deciet, the power-hunger, the little groups of his minions (many were just douped), everything you are describing here we have lived through. There were people who tried to warn Trinity. In fact, I believe the PSC at Trinity was told exactly what to expect, but they bought Chad's lies. He convinced them, that yes, there were some problems at MSBC, but I'm sure he spun it so that none of them were his fault. Well, all the problems were his fault, either directly or indirectly. There are things that to this day people still don't know about that went down behind the scenes at MSBC that this fraud, Chad Everson, did. This man is a fraud and an outright con artist.

I once believed that he was just very passionate about what he believed in and that's why he acted the way he does. No, he's passionate about 1 thing and 1 thing only: CHAD'S POWER & MONEY. That's it. He doesn't care about your church or it's people unless they can benefit him in some way.

You talk about how he was rude to the vistors at Easter, I remember him being that way at MSBC too! I'll never forget on Easter Sunday, him standing in front of a packed house and cracking a mean little joke like "Well, we're glad to see so many new faces here today on Easter. I'll guess we'll see you all again at Christmas!". What an ass!

I don't follow this blog much, but every couple of months I'll google old Chad Everson to see what pops up. You know it's funny if you google "chad everson pastor" how much horrible stuff comes up. Nice testimony there, Chadwick.

I'm amazed at the amount of destruction that this so-called "man-of-God" leaves in his wake. It's incredible that it's only taken him a year and a half to do the damage he has done to your church. He took about 4 years to do the same thing at MSBC, but he also managed leave us with 4 million in debt after running off half the membership. But I digress...As I said before, MSBC is on the mend and we are actually doing quite well, now that the poison of the Eversonites is gone.

I say all that to say this:

You have to deal with Chad like that bully that he is. You cannot be nice. You deal with a bully by punching him square in the nose and that is what you must do with Chad (figuratively speaking). You cannot be rational or polite with him. You have to stand up to him so directly and confrontationally that it causes a ruckus and he's forced to show his true colors. The madder he gets the crazier he becomes and people will start to see it. Ultimately, he just needs to be FIRED. Don't wait for him to resign, he won't do this. He's like a vampire. He will suck your church dry, financially, emotionally, and spiritually before he finally decides to leave on his own. Don't wait that long.

Good luck to you all. This guy is piece of work.

I was not at Trinity when all of that happened with the music minister we came several months later. We have gone through many changes at TBC. We had youth pastors come and go. Music ministers come and go. Also members come and go as well as building programs. We had many things over the past years and if someone had asked me if it would ever get this so bad I would have shouted NO! Chad the people voted you in and went aginist the staff and deacons to do it. They did not want you and we were led to believe it was because you were going to make them work and might get rid of them. That was wrong on our part. They saw you for what you really were. They new but instead of telling all of us the truth (which they should have done) they sat back and you were voted in. The people who voted NO on you comming were your deacons and staff including secretaries and spouses. We have always "Agreed to disagree" We may not have always been happy with all things our past pastors have done but we were unified. You came in here with the chance to help us heal and to bring us together and you have just split us more. If you preached on LOVE and understanding and not on bashing other people and religeons and stop bulling everyone you might get somewhere. We all had such great expectations for you that is where we were wrong we put faith on you and not on God. The search committee regrets you comming and are scared to tell you but tell others. You need to leave and now. People still attend Sunday School but leave afterwards because they can't stand your preaching. I will be there one week and miss a few and back and it sounds the same. Yell! Yell! Yell! Same junk different day! LEAVE NOW CHAD!!!

Dear Chad,
I was informed today that Chad went with JH to visit a lady he said was "Faithful Member" I am so sorry to Mrs. A. I told Chad in the e-mails that I was not you but he knows all and just insisted I was. He told this presious member that "Faithful Member" was a person out to distroy his ministery. That is not true. Chad I have all the e-mails still and all the proof. I have the proof of me pleading with you and Michele to stop all the hate and try to get to know us and try LOVE. He bashed me and with the e-mails you can feel the hate. I never threatened him or his ministery but he did threaten me. He and his wife are sick people. They want us to love them and believe all they say but then all they say are lies. I told you Chad I was not who you thought I was and for you NOT to go after innocent people, you did not listen you know everything and did it anyway. You and Jimmy Hughes who is great going after innocent people too just had to and now you look foolish. What I did had nothing to do with trying to distroy your ministery you already did that yourself. I was wanting you to listen and learn how to treat out people. You know all and blew me off and you are the one who lost. You had the chance to start over and all you did was bully. No one likes you only a few that will turn on you. You will see and then well I want to be the first to say "I told you so!" You could have had it all you just needed to show love and compassion but you two do not know how. Your Loss.

Welcome to the Everson world.

Wait until it you see him during his "showtime performances" and the "poor pitiful me sermons" and "pity parties".

Also, coming very soon you will get the "do I have the support of the church" statements to deacons.

He uses this to get raises and support ----That is next.

They are sick. He better stop running off people cause there won't be any money! He has now starting preaching on NOT leaving the church but MOST people from youth to senior adults leave after BFG (Sunday School) We love our classes but hate to go to church. Watch the parking lot you will find many leaving before church starts. A worship center that holds 2800 now is lucky to have 500. The attendance is larger in Sunday School than in Worship and he can LIE all he wants because we had a larger group with no pastor than with Chad.

He makes twice the amount of most of the people who pay his salary. He best not ask for more. He may have a hard time with next years budget. But I am sure all will get cut except his, Jeff's, Clay's and Jon's pay. All others can take a cut he will only take care of his own. We have you figured out.

does anyone have any idea how many people have left Trinity. I see many missing but how many people have left. He can't hide it from the deacons so why don't they look into all of this and then make a judgment based on the facts. If he lied to obtain his job that is grounds to let him go. We have become a joke in DeSoto Co.

I have heard that there have been aprox. 400 families. Not people families. That means with 3 people per family that is 1200 people. Not all have joined other places some are visiting and others are watching to see if anything will change. Many people have always complained that the women run the church well MEN lets see if you will step up and do anything. Chad is preaching SCARED right now. He wants someone to parade in front of the church for discipline so he can rally the troops to obey his will. They will comply then out of fear of being the next victim. This is just wrong. I know that there are many who have left. The sad ones are the ones who just are sick of all this and have now QUIT church for good. Chad and all the people who could have done something and sat on their hands and allowed this to go on will answer for this. If not here with all the ones you have lost face with the before the REAL judge.

I spoke with a close friend of Chads this past Sunday. What he slipped made me even fearful that we are doomed. Bro. Chad wants and plans to get rid of the deacons who do not see things his way and replace them with only his people. These will be the church ELDERS. They will be hand picked and chosen by CHAD. We will not vote on these men and then everything Chad wants will be passed by his men. We will no longer have deacons or anyone to go to they will be converted to report all to Chad and will do his will. This will be the end of Trinity forever. Remember Germantown Bapt. the old pastor wanted full control and decided on ELDERS. The church ended up with lawyers involved and it all played our in the papers and on the news. Do we want that? We have two things against us. I don't think our by-laws will stop him and I know our men won't. Or will we? Think about it if we don't stop him now there will not be a later.

I was reading the "Holding to Truth" blog that Chad writes on the TBC website. In the latest he or Michele writes that a Christian must be accountable to a local church. That if you are not then you are a floater. They claim that pretty much you are mandated to become a member but no where is it written that we must be a part of TBC only. The two of them write all of this but have spent most of the past year and a half pushing members around and bulling and running off members. They now are saying that only the people who are commited to doing things their way are allowed to join our church. You must go through 4 weeks of classes not just learning about the church but learning about living the life that Chad claims is the only true way. Many churches have 2-4 week new member classes but they tell about the church and what they believe and ways that a new member can get involved. At TBC you are not allowed to join unless they agree you are TBC qualified. There have been some turned away because they asked questions that were not liked during the class. This is true no matter what their heart was when they asked something they did not understand they were made to feel like they were 2nd class people and told that they might reconcider their membership and to look elsewhere. This happened 3 times. I talked to someone I knew had joined and they said they were so scared after hearing how they talked to one person in the class that they did not open thir mouth and are so they did not go back to finish the class. They left. They were a very nice couple about mid 30's with 2 children. This is just crazy behavior. Does Chad and Michele have to answer to anyone here? They can do as they please and keep running off people. My vote was not for this when I voted to bring this man here. I voted to bring in A southern baptist preacher who acted so different then and has now taken ownership of all of us like a warden in a prison.
I want a recall of the vote on him. He misled us and has not done anything good and his misistery has gone down since he came. We have lost so many people and he won't let new ones in. The offering last week was $27,000.00 and we need somewhere like $59,000.00. We can't keep this up. Bro. Jim is comming back to DeSoto County we need to beg him for help. Maybe with him back we can start a new church and keep the Chad goons out of it. They believe in Chad and we need only those who believe in Christ in church.

Recall Chad NOW!!!!

There are a lot of very godly couples leaving our church. Very sad.

Let us all pray for Trinity Baptist Church. The deacons ARE paying attention.

We loved being at Trinity and never wanted to leave. We joined during Bro. Jim being here. We always loved being at church. We were in the choir as well. We stayed through all the ups and downs. We were here and in choir when Bro. C. was found out and left. We were heartbroken but knew Bro. Jim did what he did for the good of the church and because most of all it was right in God's eyes. We have been through so much but we remained faithful to Trinity. Now we have left. It was so hard on the entire family, but it was harder to think of our children listening to all the lies he spews out. It just made me sick with all of the mess and what was more heartbreaking was the way people we had known for so long treating us like outcast. One person told us it was better for us to leave than to bring down the spirit by our unwillingness to comply with what God's man has commanded us to do. Yes that was said to me. We left and now are happy at another church that has a growing ministery in Southaven. I hope the deacons are watching all of this and will do something before it is to late. I would love to come back but not until the Everson's are gone and all their people they brought with them. Please deacons stand up and do what is RIGHT in GOD'S EYES.

I think that when the deacons and workers who have liked Bro.Chad in the past start leaving something is wrong. We need to start looking at our friends and the people we have known. Everyone can't be wrong and Bro. Chad always be right. Leaders listen to the cries of the members we are desperate and it just seems nothing can be done to stop him. We are still losing people when will it stop. I miss my friends who have left what will you do to help me?

Anonymous said...

I have never written anything on this but I feel I need to. I am friends with one of the members of the Pastor Search committee and they feel so bad about this. Bro.Chad did lie to them and smoozed his way into our church. She told me several times that red flags kept coming up and Chad always had a logical answer. Even Dr. Mahoney told them to pass on him but they were so scared that the church needed a pastor that they caved. The committee was not in unity about this and they were having many problems within. I have asked my friend if there was anything they could do and she wishes they could but know they can't. We need to pray and Chad needs to go. He did LIE to get his job and now he needs to be fired. The deacons and personal committee should talk to PSC and Dr. Mahoney. I know he will not lie for Chad. Someone Needs to do something NOW.

Anonymous said...

I am scared that if we don't stop Chad soon and turn back to God we will ALL stand accountable for this. All who voted him in have the right to ask for a recall. It amazes me that most of his followers are also the ones who told us NOT to vote for him. They knew what I wish I had. Now they follow our of fear of what he will do to them.

Fear Not for the Lord our God is with us.

The thought for today:

The Evilson's say and the weak minded obey.

Are you a weak minded one today who obeys LIES or someone who will stand strong for the TRUTH.

Anonymous said...

I am not weak minded but you can't stand up when all your friends and the church staff turns against you. I think that all the people who are not happy should meet together. Chad can't fight all of us together. There are more people who don't like him than do. There is strength in numbers.

Meet where? Chad already has the deacons watching everyone who leaves after Sunday School. He has spies all over the church. His evil wife is like his CIA officer. He has us all scared to even talk to friends. This is not church. This is not what God ever meant for HIS people. The deacons and other leaders are watching the church crumble and even their own are leaving. I know of about 30 GODLY people who have left in the past month. How much more? This is wrong and everyone knows it. Stop NOW!!

Anonymous said...

I was on staff at Trinity. I have now left and all I can say is this man is bad. The staff is afraid of him because he boast about him having the freedom to hire and FIRE. He rules like a king and he thinks that his way is the only way. You can't share and ideas because it is means you are going against him. I have left the church and I hate it for all left but know that the deacons and teachers and workers most feel the same way. They all are concerned and wish he was gone just no one will stand up to him. They know they have reason for him to leave but they fear what might happen if they react. They don't want the church hurt any more. The sad part is that members are leaving every week and the hurt continues any way they move or don't move. The people must speak to the deacons and allow them to know the amount of people who are broken hearted over Chad and beg them to do something. If they know you are behind them they will then know they can do something.

Sick of this mess said...

Yesterday I was amazed at what I saw. As I was entering the parking lot of the church BFG had ended and there was a line of cars leaving. There were all ages in line. I walked in and talked to one of my friends who was leaving and they said they were on their way to DeSoto Hills. They had been going to worship there for a few months. Same story they love their Sunday School class but can't stand the service here. I entered the Worship Ctr. and was shocked there was only about 35 in the choir and probably 500 in the entire place. I walked out and looked in the Chapel and the number of children in church there was very low. We are losing so many people. No you may not always be able to judge a ministry by numbers coming in but you can by the ones going out. When we came to Southaven we had outgrown our church by the first service. We were having 3 worship services and 2 Sunday School hours. We did not have an empty classroom in the building. Our youth group was huge and we had so many children and babies. Now sometimes the workers outnumber the children. Our choir had 90+ people in it. We had musicals that brought in hundreds of people and over the years hundreds were saved. Our children learned about Jesus and had fun. They were not made to be little robots like Chad had made his own boys into. We had Pastors that you could talk to about things without being labeled a "troublemaker" or told you were LOST. Being told your lost by Chad is the same as teens saying "COOL" they both say it all the time. There is no way for us to go back in time and try to make Trinity what it was because it will never be again, but we can try to salvage some part of what we were. We used to be a church of God's people who cared about each other. We were a light in the community who were always active. People would come in and feel loved and welcomed. What kept me coming back many years ago was that I felt so welcomed and I wanted to come back. Now I just want to leave. I don't want to be here Sunday Night or Wed. night I just can't stomach being put down but once a week. It is a shame because I always went to all services at TBC. I worked and served and loved being there more than anywhere. Now I won't even invite people to visit when they ask about churches I tell them about DeSoto Hills or Longview. Sad uhh. Yes it is. We MUST stand up and stop Chad from making this church another victim and stop being a laughing stock. The deacons won't stop him if they won't see it with the numbers then show them with the money. That is Chad's real love and when it goes so will he. You know what always fixes a bully it is people who stand up to them however it takes. If Chad can't see what he is doing is wrong then maybe he is the one who is LOST.

Anonymous said...

That is so right. He actually said that if we did not like a song that John sang we were lost. He just can't understand how much he hurts people and his own sermons when he starts speaking. I will admit now all I hear is bla bla bla. I look forward to guest speakers so that I might listen and maybe hear something that I might need. Chad might say something to but I would not know because he yells and defames so many that I just tune him out. We pay him well for him to treat us this way. I feel STUPID and Trinity looks that way too.

Okay I have been reading Chad's or Michele's blog on the TBC site. He is talking about what else his favorite subject "Discipline". This is
Quoiting from Chad's Blog:

(1) they are like the spoiled child that has never had any discipline in their life and when someone actually implements it and it impacts them, they respond like a two year old that has been told “no” in a toy store. They go crazy! This is the reason it is helpful to be able to teach a biblically balanced approach to this, before it is implemented.
****
Please he acts as though we are children who do not know the Bible. He thinks this is about refusing to follow what Christ says it is NOT Chad it is about how you treat us and talk to us.
****
(2) The only “discipline” they have ever seen has been when a staff member or pastor fell, morally or ethically, and had to be removed. To define this one event as discipline is difficult at best. If a man has fallen in an area of his life and has to be removed from his position, it would make it difficult for Matthew 18 to be carried out correctly. The goal of Matthew 18 is restoration – requiring him to leave his position limits the ability to restore in the body because, let’s face it, it is a removal and in many cases the man and family simply leave. Not getting into if it is right or wrong to respond in this way, we can certainly say this is not the normal expectation of accountability or discipline.
****
What???? So when a pastor does something he should not be disciplined? It is wrong to ask him to leave?? What are you saying Chad it is ok to tell members not in agreement with you to leave but you not doing your job as hired to do it should be overlooked.
****
(3) They hate, despise, and have disdain for anything that resembles authority in their life. This is a person who either needs to receive the truth of the Word, or they are simply following the same tract of rebellion their daddy did when he was thrown out of Heaven. They just hate any sort of authority or submission.
****
Now for not being in total agreement with you we are followers of satin?? Chad where did you hear that? We should all agree that we are here to serve God and what he tells us we should obey. I know that you have your "Peace Makers Team" their job is to report problems back to you and YOU and Jimmy H. will tell them to leave. If someone causes people to see you for what you are lets get rid of them but we must keep you for all the crimes you do to us members. Shame on YOU for abuse of the scriptures.

I have one major problem with Bro. Chad he screams at us all the time telling us we are lost, we need to submit to his authority. I have looked up in the NIV Bible just to see how many times the word LOST was used- 48 times. Most of it was used to describe health, wealth, hair, foothold, self confidence, sheep, missing. The word Discipline was used 49 times. The word LOVE was used 697 times. So in my personal opinion and the opinion of many other pastors including Billy Graham, Adrian Rogers, Jim Butler, David Jett and many more that the greatest thing is love.

In my marriage I LOVE my wife like Christ LOVED the church and she submits to me in return. If you tried to LOVE us instead of bulling us then we may have been more submissive. If I bully my wife she will not be submissive. As a matter of fact things will become very hard around my house. She submits because I LOVE and treat her with respect. You are a pastor not a commander. We are not in boot camp and we don't listen to you barking orders.

As I read over the past year of blogs from people on this site my heart breaks for all the people who have begged you just to get to know us and LOVE us. You listened to J.H. who has his own agenda and you fell right into it because you have your own agenda as well. I sent an e-mail to someone who sent me e-mails between you, Michele, and Faithful Member and as I read them I kept hearing someone begging you to try LOVE. You just can't listen and think someone else can be right. Well that person was right and you and Michele were WRONG. We are not your children we are humans who LOVE Jesus and are resenting you and the committee who brought you here. See this is causing us to sin because according to 1Cor. 3:13 And now abideth faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE. Jesus commands more for LOVE and when we LOVE we comply.

Hey Chad guess what?? The Kool aid is starting to wear off and they blinders are gone. People are starting to realize that you like confusion,Like your Spiritual Father does; that your whole goal is to destroy Trinity Like you have the other churches you have been at. You think you have great spirtual understanding and others at Trinity don't? Maybe the Newbies don't, But the older members who have been there for years have been Taught by Godly men do. This Present Darkness that you have Caused at Trinity has done so much damage. But the Light of Christ will pierce this darkness. People are waking up and your time is short. That is right many people are reading and talking and praying hard for God to give us the wisdom and strength.
"In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)

We must not be full of fear Jesus LOVES us and will be here with us. If we as a church are doing what God wants we would be growing but we are not. Chad can preach all he wants about the peace makers he has done more than anyone to cause war inside this house of God. Tell the deacons don't just assume they know how you feel. Chad can't throw all of us out of the church

Anonymous said...

In my 52 years on this earth being Southern Baptist I have never seen this happen before. I have also never had a preacher like Chad either. I also am reminded of the verse that says: Do not provoke a brother (or sister) to wrath. That goes on both sides. To push the members into feeling of disgust is a sin as well as you say they do not submit. We are watching you Chad. You and your wife are under the microscope and you might want to update that resume.

It speaks very loudly when the main thing Bro.Chad has done was form his Peace Makers Squad. These people are going to be used to bring troublemakers Chad's way or Chad will send them on their way.

Now other pastors in other churches or even here have looked at ways to bring people in and help minister to everyone. Chad did bring in Awannas but then the leaders left the church before the end of the first year. These people are very Godly and have been faithful leaders in TBC for years. Two of the leaders in preschool worship quit and left the church. They had been faithful to this ministry for years. Has anyone looked into the the reason for all this. Maybe we need a squad to visit all the members who have left in the past year in a half and poll their reasons. They won't because deep down they already know why they left.

The choir a ministry that is all but gone. There weren't but about 37 in it this past Sunday. This was something that Chad promised when he came in view of a call. "I love the choir and would never want it gone." A lie to get the vote. He and Jon have destroyed it.

All of the other things that people loved being a part of may be taken away but we will have ball room dancing. The deacons may not want to act for fear it will hurt the church more but I don't know what will be worse the church being hurt for the good of it or Chad hurting it for bad. There are only a small amount of people who really like him open your eyes over 35000 hits on this site in a year should tell you something. I wish that you will just put on your "Big Boy Pants" and do your job protect this church and God's people.

Anonymous said...

Get up your nerve. Let them know how we really feel. Chad does not care that he has lied about everything he promised except for the one thing he said. He will make a change here. He sure has. People are acting like abuse victims and the others are CIA spies for him. He needs to leave and can take Jeff and Jon with him.

My favorite quote :)

“Is it any wonder our churches are in the condition and mess they are in today? They are in the condition and mess today because of the mess and condition of our preachers. Straighten out the preachers, straighten out their walk and “the church” will receive the blessings and revival God desires”.
"Mike Everson"
Pastor
Pray's Mill Baptist Church

This a quote from Chad's father. It is so true! If Chad was walking the walk and learn about the JOY you have when you are a TRUE Christian then the joy would spill out in the pulpit. I am a Christian and have the JOY that you have when you truly know Christ. That joy is the only thing holding me together in all this mess. Yes Trinity is a mess it had problems when you came but now, Oh My I have never seen this in this church or any church. It is only in this shape because of Chad. This is his ministry and our misery. We have to look at this with open eyes we are paying him more than most people here make. We work hard and tithe and there is not much more we will do. You are happy and boast on how you run people off well good luck cashing your paycheck when all the money is gone to other churches.

I know Chad's father was thinking that fixing other pastors in his eyes was to make them like him and Chad's way, well look at their legacies and you will see that the churches they went to ALL fell. They started out with hope of their new pastor and ended up in blogs such as these. I have searched most of the other pastors names in DeSoto Co. and guess what? Nothing ! Chad's name is so bad that most all you see about him is like this. The only good is what he and Michel post on other sites. Deacons and Members Stand Up and DO SOMETHING!! It is not too late yet!

How can he now say that all things on here are wrong unless he is speaking about his father. I love it when you can use his own words to expose his weakness. I think I will visit somewhere else this weekend cause I know we will be lower than ever and her will be mad. When he is mad at the people not here he takes it out on the ones there. He is a little mixed up you think.

I know i have seen on this site how many times people have proven their case and Chad just drops it. Like the person with the sales receipt he asked for proof and after seeing it never apologized. He has said that the people need to come before the church and ask for forgiveness for not following him( not Jesus but Chad) yet he will not lead by example and say he is sorry when he is wrong. It takes a big person to admit they are wrong and say I'm Sorry. That just shows you how small Chad is. I have heard all my life that if you can't admit fault to others then you can't to Christ either. We can't always be in charge of everything and must face up to being wrong. I will start Chad I admit it now I was WRONG to vote you in. I am SORRY I did.

Happy 4th of July I declared my independence and visited another church. Friends at Trinity said the numbers very very low. Well I know why several members were at the same church I was visiting. They said they were not going back. It just keeps getting worse.

Anonymous said...

At some point and time someone MUST look at the facts. We have lost so many people. People who have been wonderful assets to our church. People who were doctors, dentists, teachers, pilots, salespeople, lawyers, printers, executives, secretaries, homemakers, retired people and so many more. These were people who were never called "Troublemakers" they were loved and were valuable members of Trinity. They worked and served in Trinity some for as long as we have been in Southaven and some in Memphis before the move. They are the faces of Trinity and now because they have seen Chad for what he is they are enemies of the church and are lost and full of evil. No they are not. Many of these people were deacons, taught Sunday School, sang in choir and solos, worked in nursery, made visits and all the things that make a church work. Why are these people who were our friends are now "Troublemakers". They were smart and took their families and service and tithe to another church. I say all this because several weeks ago I asked Chad about all the people leaving and he said the ones who left were ALL troublemakers and Trinity has needed them to leave for many years. The definition of a troublemaker is someone who makes trouble. These people did not make trouble they left. Many of them have not said anything at all about Chad they are just glad to be away from Chad. If we want to look at things the way Chad does He is the troublemaker. He has gone after people who have done nothing. He has told new members that they are not right for Trinity and they need to look elsewhere. He has listened to gossip and as a result lied and run off members. He is happy about all of this and boast about it. Chad is the "Troublemaker" He is the reason for all the trouble here and the members of HIS Peacemakers Team need to run Chad off.

I talked to a deacon and I was told that they are upset and concerned about what is happening at church, but their hands are tied. They know that we made a mistake with Chad. He also made it clear that if we think that Chad is bulling us think about it 10 times greater on them. Several of the deacons that were always behind the pastor have left and many have visited other churches or have thought about it. Chad tells them they can be replaced with men who will have the unity of Trinity in their hearts. He tells them that the people are watching them and that it is up to them to show unity behind him.I was also told that it spoke very high when the Miles just left. He was a deacon they taught and were very active. She was in charge of Awannas and taught. They were not just come on Sunday people. These are the ones leaving now. They are not the only ones who have or are about to leave. This one man can bully us and run so many off. This is crazy my daddy always said the only way to deal with a bully is to stand up. Well we need to and everyone needs to stand up behind the ones who do. We can STOP him.

I can't help but wonder if the situation that you read about on this blog and comments are actually being handled biblically? I think for each of us that would come down to the examination of our true intent and while we can probably rationalize away the reason for our input on this site, we can all rest assure that God knows our hearts and if any of us post with wrong intentions then we shall all answer for our actions when we stand before our just and holy God. My only request is for each of us to actually step away from the keyboard and pray about this situation and for guidance on how to best handle the matters at hand. If we decide that there is truly a biblical issue at stake, then we should handle it biblically and I don't believe that consists of posting personal attacks on the internet (and in most cases anonymously). Anway, I exhort each of us to go to our knees in prayer and to open up Scripture to ask God what His will is instead of relying on an internet blog for our information and a gripe forum. In addition, pray for each person associated with this blog and all who have posted on here that each will find peace and keep their focus on God's kingdom work. Peace and Grace to you all.

You wrote: "If we decide that there is truly a biblical issue at stake, then we should handle it biblically and I don't believe that consists of posting personal attacks on the internet (and in most cases anonymously)".

My reply: Every word you said is true. However, if any one of us were to post under our own name, you know exactly what would happen and how swiftly. You also posted anonymously...why?

My question to you: If we have a "biblical issue", how are we to have it heard? Bro. Chad is not the most 'open to discussion' kind of guy and if you dare open your mouth, you will be targeted for elimination. The "Peacemakers" are already taking names and reporting back. So, may I remain anonymous and ask you if you are aware that he is Calvinist? If that's ok with you, then fine. But, to many, it is a false doctrine.

First...proof(not gossip, not rumor) is a few keystrokes away. Google the names of authors on his much promoted recommended reading list (on Trinity's website)...all Calvinist.

Second...did you hear him quote John Calvin from the pulpit a few Sunday mornings ago?

Third...could all the emphasis from the pulpit on church discipline, Peacemakers (again by a Calvinist author and a plan of action for transitioning traditional Baptist churches), and on church unity, all be in preparation for the backlash when Trinity realizes they have been lied to?

Why not get in the pulpit and openly state that he is Calvinist, intends to take Trinity down that path and be done with it? Why the deception and manipulation? Most of us have a little sense and ears that hear and eyes that read.

I cannot figure out why these preachers today, who are so intent on reforming don't just start their own denomination and leave us alone. I think the answer is: the church buildings are built, the hard work has already been done and they can waltz in spouting that they have been "called", hurry to get the debt paid off, then they have total control and you can hit the door and leave totally in his hands the church where you have worked and served the Lord.

My attitude (I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way) is that a little honesty, transparency and most of all, love of congregation, would go a long way to cure most of the church's ills today, Trinity included.

One other point: Church unity only comes when a body's total focus is on the Lord Jesus Christ and not on the distraction of all the drama that surrounds a pastor's quest for ultimate power and control).

Watching You said...

No need to rationalize anything away for posting on this site.

Just as people stand behind pulpits with wrong intentions, so too will they be judged by God and may He have mercy on the wolves in sheep’s clothing that have ravaged the churches of the Living God.

As for handling this Biblically, it has been handled Biblically. The sinner has been confronted one on one. The sinner has been approached by more than one person and more than one occasion. But rest assured it will be re-posted so that all will know that we are at step three. This so called “pastor’s” transgression has been brought before the global church as he and many of his followers refuse to repent and turn away from their wicked ways.

Thanks for your post, but you are sadly mistaken if you think that these are personal attacks, then you are need of sight, as you are surely living in darkness.

A-Men I know that what the post said at 12:18 today may seem angry but I not knowing who they are I can feel their hearts breaking over a place that they have worked with God's blessings to build. This is heart wrenching to see all this tear it apart. Go tell Chad your problems. Ask him about this and watch his face turn red and as innosent as you may be in asking you will be labeled a troublemaker. He will not give an answer he will just say a crazy man wrote all that well I am not crazy or a man and I am inside Trinity. I am heartbroken over all this and the black eye that God's church is getting. Talk to him unless you are scared of CHAD!!

And the one who stands in the pulpit and spews hate and lies will answer in the same court as me.
